Judge.me is available on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and Squarespace. In this guide, we will walk you through the process of installing and setting up our plugin for your WooCommerce store.
Requirements
Before you begin, please make sure you meet these criteria:
- You need a working domain (no localhost) that is accessible from the Internet and is not password-protected.
- Your domain is a root domain or subdomain (example.com or sub.example.com), and not a subdirectory (https://example.com/shop/).
- Your WordPress is publishing REST API via the path /wp-json .
Install Judge.me plugin and widgets
Step 1: Install Judge.me Product Reviews plugin
- In your WordPress admin, choose Plugins > Add New.
- Search for "Judge.me" and click Install Now.
- When the installation finishes, click Activate.
- You'll now see Judge.me plugin on the left sidebar, where you can access your Judge.me settings and reviews.
Step 2: Install Judge.me widgets
When you install Judge.me, the preview badge and review widget are installed automatically on WooCommerce default product pages and collection pages.
These widgets will be installed automatically based on visual hooks, which can be different from theme to theme. If you don't like the position where these widgets are installed, you can always switch off this quick installation and:
- Install the widgets manually using shortcode,
- Or install the widgets using visual hooks (advanced).
Step 3: Access Judge.me settings
- In your WordPress admin, go to Judge.me plugin.
- Click Get started! Open Judge.me now.
- After you've clicked the button, if you're directed to the login screen below, please chat with us or email us at support@judge.me and we'll help you troubleshoot it.
Step 4: Import reviews from WooCommerce (optional)
If you have reviews you previously collected from the WooCommerce built-in review system, you can import those reviews to Judge.me following these steps:
- In your WordPress admin, go to Judge.me plugin.
- Go to the Advanced tab and choose Export to CSV.
- Once you've got the CSV file, click Get started! Open Judge.me now > Import/Export > Import reviews > From Review Apps.
- Choose WooCommerce and upload the CSV file you receive earlier.
- Then you can disable the native WooCommerce built-in review system in your WordPress admin by going to Woocommerce > Settings > Products.
