Judge.me allows you to import reviews from a supported previous reviews app without having to change the CSV file as well as import reviews from AliExpress.
Additionally, you can import from an unsupported source with a CSV file following our template. In this article, we will show you how to prepare the CSV file and make the import.
4 steps to import using Judge.me template
Step 1: Download the CSV template
You can download our CSV file for reviews using the link below.
To edit the file, you can:
- Login to Google Sheet and create a new sheet.
- Click File > Import > Upload and select the file you downloaded above.
- In Import location, choose Replace current sheet and check the box Convert text to numbers, dates, and formulas.
- Click Import data.
We recommend Google Sheet because it's free, it's compatible with most devices, and it saves the file as CSV without adding unsupported characters to the content.
Step 2: Fill in the information for the reviews
Here are the references for each CSV column:
title | optional | title of the review |
body | required, has a fallback | body of the review (up to 5000 characters)
|
rating | required | rating of the review (1-5) |
review_date | optional | the date when the review was created, in dd/mm/yyyy format.
|
reviewer_name | optional | name of the reviewer. If the name is empty, "Anonymous" will be used instead. |
reviewer_email | optional | email of the reviewer. If the email is empty, a unique fake email will be used instead. |
product_id product_handle | either is required | You just need to fill in either the product_id or produt_handle. Here's how to find these values: If both product_id and product_handle are empty, the reviews will be imported as shop reviews. |
reply | optional | the public reply to the review (if there is any) |
picture_urls | optional | URLs of the images in the review.
|
ip_address | optional | the IP address of the review (e.g. 34.203.165.149). We automatically calculate the location (city, country, country code) based on this IP address. |
If you want to import answers for your customized questions in each review, please create additional columns in your CSV file with the header CFYour Question. We import custom forms as text only so we are unable to import multiple options.
Step 3: Upload the file to Judge.me
- When you're done editing the Google Sheet, you can download it as a CSV file by choosing File > Download > Comma Separated Value (.csv).
- Then in Judge.me admin, choose Import & Export.
- Then in From Customers Directly (advanced bulk import), you can choose the file you've downloaded and click Import reviews.
Step 4: Review the results
After you upload the CSV file, we will process the file in the background and send a notification email with the details to all email addresses listed in Settings > Review request > Admin Notifications.
In this email, you can check how many reviews have been imported, how many have failed, and the reason they failed.
You will see the successfully imported reviews in the reviews dashboard after a few minutes.
