How to automatically blacklist products, customers and orders by adding tags in Shopify (Blacklist Automation Tag)

Modified on: Mon, 23 Sep, 2019 at 4:31 PM

Judge.me now allows for automatic blacklisting. What this feature does is to STOP sending out any review requests for (a) products, (b)  customers, and (c) orders which are tagged in the blacklist.

  • It will take approximately 2 hours for all tags to be updated. To help prevent errors, please try to add all the tags as a single batch and minimise changes (try not to add and remove new tags repeatedly).

  • In Judge.me Settings, the default tag named “judgeme_excluded” is already added, so all you need to do is to add this tag in your Shopify product, order or customer pages.

  • For more information about how to remove tags in Shopify, please read this article.

(A1) Add the “judgeme_excluded” tag to products

Go to Products Dashboard>Click on which products you want to blacklist>Actions>Add Tag>Enter "judgeme_excluded">Apply Changes

(A2) Blacklisting specific products/customers/orders  using a custom tag

Add a tag such as “bonusfreegift” for products that are free and don't need reviews.

Note: You have to add tag in both product side (Judge.me) and on Shopify Product Dashboard.

Tag needs to be updated in Judge.me before they are added in Shopify Dashboard.

Adding custom tags will not affect existing customers and orders.

    1. On Judge.me, go to Settings>Review Request>Condition> Blacklist Automation by Tag> Enter “bonusfreegift”> Save Settings

2. On Shopify, go to Products Dashboard> Choose what item you want to include in the blacklist> More Actions> Add a Tag> Enter “bonusfreegift”> Apply Changes

(B) Add the “judgeme_excluded” tag to customers

Note: In Judge.me Settings, default tag named “judgeme_excluded” is already added, you only need to add tag in your Shopify customer dashboard

Go to Customers Dashboard> Click on which customers you want to blacklist>Actions>Add Tag>Enter "judgeme_excluded">Apply Changes

Note: you can see list of blacklisted customers on Judge.me by go to Judge.me Dashboard>Settings>Review Request>Conditions>Blacklist Automation Tag> Click on Show Blacklisted Customers.

(C) Add the “judgeme_excluded” tag to orders

Note: In Judge.me Settings, default tag named “judgeme_excluded” is already added, you only need to add tag in your Shopify orders dashboard.

Go to Orders Dashboard> Click on which orders you want to blacklist>Actions>Add Tag>Enter "judgeme_excluded">Apply Changes
