Quick guide to remove Judge.me widget snippets

Modified on: Fri, 3 May, 2019 at 5:46 PM

Ask us to do it for you

At Judge.me, we are happy to help you check through your code and remove any snippets we add to display the review widgets.

However, if you have uninstalled Judge.me already, we no longer have access to make these changes, so what you'll need to do is grant us access your store through a staff account.

Please invite us (support@judge.me) to your staff admin. You find the staff account control in the Shopify admin (www.shopify.com/admin): Settings > Account > 'Account and permissions' section > 'Add staff account' button

  • For email: support@judge.me (First and Last name can be any name)

  • We will only need permission for Online store > theme access

Once this is done, just send us an email at support@judge.me or get hold of us via chat, and we'll gladly check your code and make any necessary adjustments for you.

DIY code removal

During installation we always add code to your 'theme.liquid' file and, depending on your installation preferences during onboarding, we may add code to your and 'product.liquid' template file (see step 1 & 2). If you would like to remove any residual code snippets by yourself:

  1. Go to your theme.liquid layout file and remove the JS call line of code:

  2. {% include 'judgeme_core' %}Go to your product.liquid template or snippet and remove the review widget line of code:

  3. {% include 'judgeme_widgets', widget_type: 'judgeme_review_widget', concierge_install: true %}If you had the preview badges installed, go to your collection.liquid and/or product.liquid template and remove this line:

  4. {% include 'judgeme_widgets', widget_type: 'judgeme_preview_badge', jm_style: '', concierge_install: true %}If you had the All Reviews page installed, remove these 2 files from your themes:

    • snippets/judgeme_all_reviews.liquid

    • templates/page.judgeme_all_reviews.liquid

Note: The line of code could be placed in a snippet referenced in the template. For example, the Preview Badge could be part of a product-thumbnail snippet rather than mentioned directly in the template file 'collection.liquid'.
