Google Search Console just sent me an email about missing "itemReviewed" field in Rich Snippets. Help? Can you take a look?

Sure, just email us at support@judge.me (or make a ticket using the link above).

Google Search is sending out notifications for any possible Rich Snippet errors across all of the pages they index. This means we are getting a lot of requests at the moment. We are carefully looking through all your requests, will give your specific case a proper look, and will get back to you within the next few days. We do know that neither Google or Judge.me has made any recent changes to how we handle Rich Snippets, and most of the issues we have already investigated are minor, pre-existing ones that do not impact how your review stars are displayed in Google Search. Nevertheless, we will check each and every case in detail, and we don't want to do a rushed job. Thanks for giving us just a bit more time so we can give everyone the attention they need.

Meanwhile, let me give you a rundown of a couple of the common issues we are seeing:

(1) Missing "itemReviewed" field
This usually happens when the review widget is not positioned in an itemscope (or in other words: Google can't associate it with the correct product). Sometimes, this may not be an actual issue and your reviews and stars can still be indexed in Google Search, but Google will still continue to "complain". What we will do is to check this for you, fix it if it's an actual problem, or show you how it's already working and let you know if it's okay to ignore.
For more info, see the troubleshooting section here: https://support.judge.me/support/solutions/articles/44001260254-rich-snippets-for-product-reviews-review-snippet-

(2) Additional issues for non-product pages
According to Google, "Rich snippets in general will not show for your homepage. The main topic of the page needs to be about a specific product or service." Judge.me provides rich snippets at the product level based on reviews for each specific product. Creating rich snippets for other non-product pages (like the all-reviews page) may not always work. But we will look at each of your cases in detail and see how best to help you.

I'm having the same issue. My Shopify theme is sectioned. If I place the reviews widget within the itemscope it's not positioned properly on the page(squishes it into a column). I can't seem to get the other proposed solution to work. Getting the same error from search console rich snippets testing.

Product.liquid Template

{% section 'product' %}

{% render 'judgeme_widgets', widget_type: 'judgeme_review_widget', concierge_install: false, product: product %}

{% section 'framework--product-recommendations' %}

What's the proper way to implement an additional itemscope <div> tag in this instance?

PS. Can you word-wrap your responses instead of code formatted? It's hard to read.

Hi Owen,

Seems like there is a duplicated itemscope that you forgot to remove the duplicated itemscope. I've removed it and also place the widget in a new position that still ensures that it's still within the itemscope. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like. You can enable the widget again any time soon if this is how you want it to look like. If not, please give us more information by dropping an email to support@judge.me ;)

Thank you so much for your assistance! I feel a little silly now looking at the solution. Errors have been eliminated and the position of the widget looks great.

Thanks again!!

Hello there,

Upon checking it seems you're using the Spotify default app for reviews, not our app "Judge.me Product Reviews"

Please reach their support as they are better equipped to assist with issues related to their app.
