Troubleshooting AliExpress URL and product issues
Updated over a week ago

When importing reviews from AliExpress, there are two key pieces of information you need to provide:

  • The URL of your AliExpress product.

  • The name of the Shopify product you intend to import reviews for.

Failure to provide valid information for either of these fields will result in an error message. This guide aims to assist you in resolving these common issues.

1. Error: "Valid AliExpress URLs must have aliexpress.com URL"

This error arises when the AliExpress URL you input isn't in the correct format.

To resolve this issue, please ensure the following:

  • Enter the complete AliExpress URL.

  • Choose the URL of a specific product page, not the homepage or a collection page.

Typical URL formats include:

2. Error: "Product Not Found"

Our system employs fuzzy search technology (learn more about fuzzy search here: Fuzzy Search Definition) to display a list of your Shopify products as you type the product name. If the inputted product name matches an existing product in your Shopify store, a green checkmark will appear. Otherwise, a "product not found" error will occur.

To address this issue:

  • Ensure that the product name you input is accurate.

  • Attempt to reset your product information.

If a product isn't found in the AliExpress Review Importer, it might be due to incomplete product information during installation. To reset the product information:

  • Go to your Shopify Products admin.

  • Select the products and mark them as Draft.

  • Subsequently, mark them as Active.

By following these steps, you can effectively troubleshoot and resolve the "Valid AliExpress URLs" and "Product Not Found" issues.
